When did you join the LeadINcenter team? What motivated you to cooperate with them?

It’s been 2.5 years already 😉.

Before LeadIN, I had a job where I felt like I was at a crossroads for almost two years (as in "you know you need change because soon you will burn out, but you have no idea what to do…") and at the same time, I was a participant in the Authentic Leadership programme for men which lasts 1 year.

The topic of one of the modules was calling and when I formulated mine, it all made sense. I realized that as an HR manager, I have few opportunities (i.e., almost none…) to lead people on their journey to self-discovery and to a joyful and fulfilled life. However, a program leader at LeadIN can do that 😉.

It was one of the “aha moments” when you feel the tectonic plates breaking in your inner world. I contacted Evka and then things went very quickly.

What are your favourite activities? How do you like to spend your free time?

I love free time, especially mine 😉. I enjoy running – not for medals, only for myself, and in winter, I connect it with swimming in the Danube. It gives me a strong sense of "the here and now", when the body is fighting for its life, you can’t think about your mortgage.

During lockdown, I created a hiking club where me and my closest friends go to the forest instead of the bar every Friday. I would never have believed that the forest at night is “a thing”. We will probably never get back to the bar. :-D

Me and my wife like wellness centres. And I love doing anything with my son, because he is very funny, we enjoy absurd humour. This year, I started to ride a mountain bike in the Carpathians, I love how concentrated you need to be on the three meters ahead of you and I love the smell of the forest.

What do you consider to be your biggest achievements?

Three things. Over the past year I've managed to grow a new sense of purpose, I have an intense feeling that my life is on the right track, and when I want to mess it up, I feel it too.

I don’t have "a job". My days are full of activities that bring me joy and make sense to me. I am extremely grateful for it and I will wish it on anyone who would like something like that 😉. When I read, what I’ve just written, it sounds like a cheap cliché, but I don’t know how to describe it in a better way…

And that we have launched the Pathfinder program which I lead. Through the program, we can deliver the “aha moments” which business managers and talents experience to teenagers.

And on the contrary, what do you consider to be your failure?

This is not an easy question, because some things which looked like failure turned out to be a total win, and vice versa. For example, I lost my job = failure. Then I had six months off and found a much better job than the one I lost = win. After a few years, I almost burned out in that job…

So, what’s the takeaway?

Is there something that not even your colleagues know about you and you can tell us?

There is one thing. Dear colleagues, I’ve hidden a treasure in our office. The one who finds it, can keep it. At least we will see who will read the article 😉.

And finally, tell us what you would tell your 20-year-old self if you could?

When I was 20, I was convinced that it’s not necessary to interfere with things happening around us and to have expectations, because everything will turn out well anyway. I was something like “a yes man”. I would tell my younger self to take more control, because then everything will turn out even better. Unfortunately, my 20-year-old self would send this old man away and do it his own way… 😊
